The Power of Seduction…

This Monólogo Rosa has allowed me to return a subject that has, for many years, been extremely close to my heart: The power of seduction.

Historically it is a power that has been associated with the sexual connection and romantic interests between two people, and which has also mistakenly been associated almost exclusively with female manipulation. Unsurprisingly, seduction is an art form that has been written about since the beginning of time, as its powers can be both subtle and refined as well as overwhelming and breathtaking. We all deserve to be seduced, but we also all deserve to master the art of seduction – first on ourselves and then on others. And we all deserve to live our lives lighting the flames of desire that bring us together as allies rather than enemies.

As a soundtrack to this monologue you can hear Fireworks exploding in the background. London was in the midst of celebrating its famous Guy Fawkes night, which is held on November the 5th and, at the time of recording, Joe Biden had just been declared the official winner in the United States presidential election which, we dare to assume, was adding a touch more exuberance to the celebrations. And so, as the sound of joyful explosions fill the sky and iridescent lights fuel your imagination, may I seductively suggest that you surrender to the dazzling prospect of joining in with the celebrations, by becoming one of those beguiling stars in the sky.

Questo Monólogo Rosa mi ha permesso di rivisitare un argomento che per molti anni è stato estremamente accattivante per me: il potere della seduzione.

È un potere storicamente associato al corteggiamento sessuale e all’interesse romantico di due, ed è un potere erroneamente associato quasi esclusivamente a forme di manipolazione femminile, tuttavia, la seduzione è un’arte di cui sono stati scritti trattati fino che il mondo è mondo, perché può rispondere a quadri tanto raffinati e sottili quanto a risultati travolgenti e sorprendenti. Tutti meritiamo essere sedotti, e tutti meritiamo di padroneggiare l’arte di sedurre, prima noi stessi, per poi essere in grado di sedurre gli altri. Este Monólogo Rosa me ha permitido revisitar un tema que desde hace muchos años me resulta sumamente cautivador: El poder de la seducción.

Se trata de un poder históricamente asociado al cortejo sexual y al interés romántico de dos, y se trata de un poder erróneamente asociado casi exclusivamente a formas de manipulación femenina, sin embargo, la seducción es un arte acerca del cual se han escrito tratados desde que el mundo es mundo, porque puede responder a entramados tan refinados y sutiles como a resultados contundentes y asombrosos. Todos merecemos ser seducidos y todos merecemos dominar el arte de seducirnos a nosotros mismo primero, para luego ser capaces de seducir a otros. Todos merecemos transitar la vida encendiendo a nuestro paso la llama del deseo que nos convierte en aliados de otros en vez de sus adversarios.

Como música de fondo de este Monólogo se escuchan fuegos artificiales. Londres aun celebraba la famosa noche de Guy Fawke, que en UK se festeja el 5 de noviembre, y para el momento de la grabación, Estados Unidos acababa de declarar a Joe Biden como ganador oficial de las elecciones presidenciales de los Estados Unidos, lo que nos atrevemos a suponer que le agregó mas fuego a los artificios.
