David Deveson was a father. Of this I know, for I am his son. He was both a success and a failure as a father. For what kind of a father are you if you have not failed? David Deveson was a husband, a partner and a lover. Of this, however, I know less, for I am his son and was none of these things to him. He was, however, both a successful husband and partner to those he loved, as well as a failure to those left behind. For who amongst us hasn’t broken a heart or shattered a dream?
